Wilkes Makes Step Up

North Wales Crusaders have further strengthened their squad having agreed terms 28-year-old forward Adam Wilkes who arrives in Colwyn Bay on a one-year-deal.

Wilkes hails from amateur club Leigh East where he's held an illustrious career, remaining loyal by playing all his rugby at one club.

Last season, Wilkes was appointed captain for Leigh, and skippered his side to the National Conference League final against Millom.

Wilkes has also received call ups for Lancashire, England Lions under 23's and represented England Lions openage on the tour of South Africa.

Wilkes commented on his move to North Wales Crusaders: “Carl approached me before pre-season started, and asked me to come on board.

"I was made up he got in touch and he’s give me this opportunity.

"I’ve trained all pre-season and am really looking forward to getting on the field and seeing what this season brings.”

North Wales Crusaders head coach Carl Forster added: "He’s come in with so much enthusiasm and energy, he’s at the front of a lot of the conditioning and giving pre-season a really good go.

"I’m excited to see him on the field and what he can bring to the group.”
